Ailsa Buckley, Judi Driscole and Fiona Mitchell work together as a leadership team to support, mentor and grow our highly talented Arahunga Specialist Teaching Team who work across our large region. As a leadership team we combine our individual strengths and have a wide range of experiences to develop and maintain relationships with our colleagues within our region.
Our large region includes the Manawatu, Horowhenua, Rangitikei and Tararua. All of our teachers respect the current journey and experiences of the teaching teams that they support. They meet them, where they are at to support and create individual, bespoke solutions to meet the needs within our community that are child centered, strength-based, and inclusive. We are passionate about relationships, and maintaining the mana of others. We pride ourselves on working alongside teaching teams to raise their capacity (and ours) to meet the needs of diverse and complex learners.
Arahunga School provides a range of services including: Outreach Specialist teachers, SENCO positions, Learning Support Coordinator Roles (LSC), Specialist Teachers for High and Complex Needs learners, Specialist Teachers for Intensive Wraparound Service learners, Te Kura Specialist Teacher work including remote support for learners who are geographically isolated.
