Arahunga Specialist Services

Arahunga School is incredibly lucky to have their own highly skilled Specialist Services Team. All our enrolled students get regular access to therapy as our Arahunga classes in Whanganui are visited by at least one of our therapy team most days. The Specialist Services team provides support to our learners individually and in group settings, while working alongside the classroom teaching team.

Our team provides support within the classrooms and are also on the end of the phone for advice and guidance to teaching staff. 

We provide support through a referral system. Staff can access assistance with student's communication and language support, physical and sensory needs, musical therapy and regulation along with a wide range of advice and guidance. 

Our Arahunga Specialist Services Team currently includes the following:

• Speech Language Therapists
• Physiotherapists
• Occupational Therapist
• Music Therapist
• Special Education Advisors
• Educational Psychologists

As a team we also provide weekly therapy sessions within the classrooms, both one on one and group sessions.

Arahunga Specialist Services Team also provide therapy to students at our fundholder schools.
