Our Rutherford Hub is a vibrant and welcoming space located right in the heart of Rutherford School. This hub is designed to cater for the specific needs of our Intermediate aged learners. We have built a strong relationship with the host school and our learners participate in as many learning activities as possible alongside our Rutherford whanau.
Our highly skilled teaching team works collaboratively to meet the individual learning needs of our tamariki while at the same time provides strong pastoral support that is critical to the overall outcomes for our learners. We take pride in supporting all learners to be as independent as they possibly can be. Our team is passionate, committed and focused on engaging our students and supporting them to develop to their full potential.
We offer small class sizes with a very high staffing ratio. This means our learners have access to quality specialist programmes tailored to meet each learner's individual needs. We are proud of our high quality literacy and numeracy programmes which are specifically taught each day.
Our learners are provided opportunities to engage in a wide range of additional learning activities that include: Swimming at the Splash Centre, Boy’s and Girl’s Gym Club, Sport Whanganui workshops, Dance, Kapahaka cooking and bike riding to name a just a few.
